Saab North American President, Tim Colbeck, has given the automotive industry a little more insight into when the company could restart production. For months now, the Swedish company has been working with outside investors to gather up enough money to not only begin producing vehicles at their home plant, but to simply pay their employees. Saab Automobile and its parent company, Swedish Automobile N.V., have been working with Chinese companies like Pang Da and Youngman, but they still need help. According to Colbeck, “There are talks going on. Real and substantive talks.”

Production at Saab’s Trollhättan, Sweden plant has been stopped since April and a restart date has been pushed back too many times. In a recent interview, Colbeck revealed that another date has been set for Trollhättan: August 29. Whether or not this new restart date will actually hold true is still up in the air. The last official release added GEM Global Yield Fund Limited to the list of Saab share holders, and it would appear that another company is getting ready to follow suit. The company is currently reluctant to go into full details about the next investor.
