In the middle of all the drama that currently makes up Saab Automobile, they have managed to stay strong as the first new model hits North American showrooms. The 2012 9-4X crossover is officially for sale across the United States and requests are continuing to arrive. Currently, there are over 100 orders placed for the latest Saab as it recently received a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

“This is an exciting product, with a true Saab crossover that gives us entry into a new segment,” said Tim Colbeck, President and COO for Saab North America. The 2012 Saab 9-4X rides on heavily modified Lamda Platform and can be optioned with Saab’s XWD all wheel drive system. With an electronic rear limited slip differential and DriveSense real time damping control, the 9-4X should be a crossover that will blend performance and safety in a tidy package.

The first 9-4X was sold to a Martin Reuben at the Saab North Olmstead in Cleveland, Ohio. “Before even driving it off the lot, I put my butt into the seat, looked around and bought it on the spot,” replied Martin. “So far everything I’ve discovered on this car is pure Saab – purposeful & well designed.”
