The Ford Mustang is not the only muscle car charging into Europe with an all-new model for 2016. In a surprise reveal from Chevy this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new Gen Six Camaro made its debut on European shores. Along with revealing the car for the first time in Europe, GM shed more light on how the car was developed, and it is obvious the team means business. To test, tune and develop the new 2016 Camaro, Chevy made use of eight different racetracks and the autobahn.

Chevy also went and dropped info on what differences are going to be made between the Euro and US market cars, and the biggest change happens under the hood. The 3.6-liter V6 is cut from the car for European consumption. Instead the car will only be offered with the base 2.0-liter turbo or the mighty LT1 V8. The 2.0T is only being sold with the new eight-speed auto, while the V8 still retains the options for three-pedals, but has an 8-speed auto available as well.

Beyond the big drivetrain changes, a lot of what we already like about the new Camaro is staying. There is the angry new style, magnetic suspensions, Brembo brakes and adaptive driving selections.

Sales should start later this year, so only the numbers will tell if Europe will be happy with just two engine choices, but something tells me that sales will be strong with or without the V6.
