Volvo’s S60 has quickly become one of the marques best-selling models thanks to its aggressive new looks and available options. For 2013 the “naughty Volvo” gets some updates and trim level changes. One of the biggest changes for 2013 is the availability of AWD on any T5 S60. The AWD system, which come standard on all T6 models, is now a $2,000 stand alone option.
The T5 engine has seen been upgraded with a higher 9.5:1 compression ratio and internal friction has been reduced. While power doesn’t improve, the easier spinning engine combined with quickened shifts in sport mode have cut 0-60 times from 6.8 to 6.4.
For 2013 all S60 models receive rain-sensing wipers, headlight washers and Tunnel Detection, which turns lights on automatically in a tunnel, as standard. T5 cars get the same dual polished exhaust found on the more power T6 cars as standard. T6 cars also get some new standard goodies, like Keyless Drive and a power glass moonroof.
Pricing starts at $31,750 for a base S60 T5 and goes all the way up to $46,600 for a S60 T6 AWD R-Design Platinum.

S60 T5
- 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine improvements include increased compression ratio from 9.0:1 to 9.5:1 and a reduction of internal friction.
- Those changes, in combination with faster gear changes in sport mode, result in quicker acceleration from 0-60 mph of 6.4 seconds (previously 6.8 seconds) with standard front-wheel drive
