Traffic in California is worse than most places in the United States, and drivers will do anything for a little relief. One of the easiest ways through the traffic clogged interstates is the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane, more commonly referred to as the carpool lane. HOV lane users save an average of 36 minutes a day in travel time.

California has long offered HOV certification in the form of Clean Air Stickers for certain low emissions vehicles as a way to entice people to buy more environmentally friendly vehicles. The newest vehicle to qualify for California’s Clean Air Sticker is none other than Chevrolet’s Volt.

The Volt has received this honor thanks to an all-new Low Emissions Package, which is standard on all Volts in California. Cars with the new package began shipping from the General Motors Detroit-Hamtramck plant this week.

To add a little icing to the cake, all Low Emission Package Volts are also qualified for a $1,500 state rebate on top of the $7,500 federal tax credit.

Save money and time with a Chevy Volt in California.
