The 2011 Cadillac CTS received the highest-possible ratings of “Good” in front, side, rear and rollover crash protection tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which recognized CTS as a 2010 Top Safety Pick
“The CTS earns the Institute’s top safety designation with the highest ratings in four demanding crash tests,” said Institute president Adrian Lund. “The tough award criteria also require electronic stability control, a crucial safety feature that can help drivers avoid many crashes altogether.”
The 2011 CTS embodies Cadillac’s commitment to continuous safety before, during and after a crash. Complimenting CTS’s high-strength steel body structure and safety cage are a number of standard features. These include dual-stage driver and passenger front air bags, front seat mounted pelvic / thorax side air bags, roof-rail side curtain airbags covering the front and rear seating rows, reduced force front safety belts with dual pretensioners, front seat active head restraints and the safety and security of OnStar.
“The IIHS Top Safety Pick Award strengthens the reputation of the CTS,” said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac Marketing. “The CTS has not only caught the attention of enthusiasts with its cutting-edge design and dynamic driving experience, but it also continues to be a leader in its class for safety and quality.”
The CTS is among the most highly acclaimed luxury automobiles in the industry. It has been named to Car and Driver’s 10 Best List for three straight years. The CTS also placed in the top 10 of all vehicles in the most recent J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study. In July, Cadillac launched the all-new 2011 CTS Coupe, joining the CTS Sport Sedan and CTS Sport Wagon in the CTS line.
