The 2010 Acura ZDX four-door sport coupe was designed, developed and manufactured in North America. It offers stunning coupe like styling combined with flexible utility, a commanding presence and outstanding performance. The ZDX is available in three trim packages: the ZDX, ZDX with Technology Package, and the XDZ with Advanced Techno Pkg.
Your first look at the Acura ZDX might lead you to believe that it is really a Honda Accord Crosstour rebadged and dressed up to be an Acura. Acura officials state emphatically that nothing could be further from the truth, adding that the two vehicles were developed totally separate from one another. They would have you believe that it is mere coincidence that they have such a similar silhouette. They back up their claim by pointing out that the Crosstour, based on their Accord platform is a car. While the ZDX is based on Acura’s SUV MDX platform, which they consider a truck based vehicle.
No doubt the ZDX is a real eye catcher, and I’d be less than honest to say that I didn’t have to swallow hard to think of it as a truck. But considering its AWD capabilities, I can appreciate Acura’s contention.
Standard features to the ZDX include the world’s largest panoramic glass roof, concealed rear door handles, and a hand stitched leather dash, center console and door panels. Every ZDX is powered by a 3.7-liter VTEC V=6 engine that generates 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The EPA rates fuel economy at 16 city and 23 hwy. Acura’s exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system is standard on all ZDX’s providing excellent all-season capability.
Opt for the Technology Package and you’ll add a navigation system with voice recognition, real time traffic information with traffic rerouting, real-time weather with radar image map, a full VGA display screen and an innovation multi-view rear camera. The camera not only shows you what is behind the vehicle, but top clearance as well. Additionally, the Techno Package includes an upgraded 415watt premium audio system with a built-in 16-gigabite hard disk drive media storage system that allows ZDX owners to download and store up to 3,500 songs, a GPS linked, solar-sensing dual-zone automatic climate control system and keyless entry with push button ignition.
Take another step up to the Advanced Techno package and you’ll add a blind spot information system, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigating braking system, heated and ventilated front seats with perforated Milano Premium Leather seating surfaces, a premium brushed tricot headliner material and a sport steering wheel.
Regardless of the trim level, you can rest assured the ZDX will garner its fair share of headturns.
