Double win again for Audi: For the fifth time in a row, two Audi models are “All-wheel drive car of the year.” The readers of “AUTO BILD ALLRAD” voted the Audi A4 quattro and the new Audi A8 top of their respective categories. The award ceremony took place during a press conference on the eve of the AMI Leipzig.
The Audi A4 quattro won in the category “All-wheel drive cars from €25,000 to €40,000”, and the new Audi A8 finished top of the category “All-wheel drive cars over €40,000” first time out. Audi’s success was rounded off by second places for the Audi Q5 in the category “Off-road vehicles and SUVs from €25,000 to €40,000” and for the Audi R8 in the category “All-wheel drive coupés and sports cars.” This result makes Audi one of the most successful brands in the reader poll once again this year.
“In 2010 we are celebrating 30 years of quattro. The “Ur-quattro” was the start of a success story which continues right up to the present day,” said Michael-Julius Renz, Head of Sales Germany at AUDI AG. “We are therefore particularly pleased that the readers of AUTO BILD ALLRAD have once again voted our cars the best all-wheel drive cars in their class.” Renz thanked the readers and accepted the award during a press conference on the eve of the AMI Leipzig.
In 2010, a total of 116,336 readers of the German magazine AUTO BILD ALLRAD chose their favorites from 138 vehicles in ten categories.
